The Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology (GDST) is now inviting applications for 2019-2020 Guangdong Natural Science Fund - General Programme (2019-2020年度廣東省自然科學基金-面上項目).

Budget for each project: RMB100,000.  

Project duration: Maximum three years.

Affiliated unit for proposal submission:  Via either HKU (grants for successful projects can cross boundary to be used in Hong Kong) or HKU-SIRI (grants can only be used on the mainland).  Principal investigator can only choose one affiliated unit for application, NOT both.   

Maximum nomination of projects per eligible unit
HKU: 23 proposals;

HKU-SIRI: 3 proposals

There will be an internal evaluation if applications received exceed the maximum nomination number.

Eligibility

The University supports Assistant Professor / Research Assistant Professor or above for application.

Internal application deadline: 12^th June, 2019 (Wednesday)

Submission of Proposals

Proposals must be submitted via the GDST online system <Click here>, which will be opened on 20 May 2019 (Monday).  Affiliated members already with a GDST system account can use their existing account.  For new applicants, please email MRPO at mrpo@hku.hk to create a user account for you to log on to the system via either HKU or HKU-SIRI.
