The National Natural Science Foundation of China 國家自然科學基金委員會 (NSFC) has announced that it will accept applications for the 2019 funding round starting January 15, 2019.

As each scheme may have different application requirements, you are invited to read carefully the application guidelines to ensure compliance. 

Submission of Proposals

Proposals must be submitted via NSFC online system <click here>, which will be opened on January 15, 2019.  

For new applicants, the Mainland Research Projects Office (MRPO) will create a user account for you to log on to the system.

Please email MRPO at mrpo@hku.hk to get this set up. Affiliated members already with an NSFC system account can use their existing account. 

Eligibility

1.      The University supports Assistant Professor / Research Assistant Professor or above for application via HKU-Shenzhen Institute of Research and Innovation (SIRI) or HKU-Zhejiang Institute of Research and Innovation (ZIRI). 

2.      Principal investigator can only choose ONE affiliated unit (SIRI) or (ZIRI) for application. PI/Co-I holding an ongoing NSFC/RGC Joint Research Scheme project is not eligible for application.
