Subject: Tencent Xplorer Prize Message from Vice-President and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research)
Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to inform you that the Tencent “Xplorer Prize” has been extended to include candidates from Hong Kong.
https://xplorerprize.org/

All active full-time researchers (of any nationality) working in Hong Kong (and the Mainland) born after 1st Jan 1974 are eligible.  Other requirements and application/ nomination procedures are given in the website.  A key selection criterion is the quality and innovation value of the research proposal.

There will be 50 awardees every year, and each will receive RMB 3 million (after tax) over 5 years.  This is a “talent prize” and hence the cash may be used for research or personal uses.

Best Wishes,

Professor Andy Hor

Vice President & Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research)
